7 Influential Tricks To Get More Clicks On Your Ads

When you hear somebody talk about influencing, you probably think about social media influencers. You know, those people with big Instagram accounts, with thousands if not millions of followers. But why? People are already being influenced since the first human civilizations. Those people didn't have Instagram back then. In my opinion, everything can influence us, because everything communicates with us in one or another way.

Dictionary.com describe influence as the following: “the action or process of producing effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of another or others” So if you are able to influence others you can determine their actions, their behavior and their opinions. Which is a scary and powerful thought. But we can use this influence for our own business, in a positive way, to increase our sales or brand awareness.

How you do that? Especially on the internet where you are not able to talk face to face with your prospects? One way businesses are doing this is with advertisements. Especially for new businesses it is essential to promote your business as much as you can. Building a following on social media takes time, especially if you do not have the budget to pay for it. So good communication with your new and old customers is key to influence them to click on your links or buy your products.

Here are 7 tricks that help you create better influential ads and get more clicks in the end.

Use famous people.

The more you know and trust a person the easier it is to influence someone. Big brands know this and therefore love to use famous people to promote their brands. I hear you say, but Ron, I don't have enough money to pay famous people to promote my products. How do I do that? Well, depending on your budget, you can start with local celebrities, or youtubers and Instagrammers. Reach out to them and ask them to promote your brand. You can send them free products and in return you get more people to learn about you and your business.

Don't expect too much results right away, growing your brand, especially with a smaller budget is a time consuming process. But by using famous people you can surely speed up the process.

Become an authority in your niche.

In order for people to trust you it is important to become an authority in your niche. The best way to do this is to create useful and problem solving content. People will start seeing you as an expert, which will increase your trustworthiness. People that are trusted are more able to influence others.

You can go to websites like Quora and start answering questions, or use Facebook groups, forums, Pinterest, Twitter etc. and start sharing and answering questions there as well. The more you promote yourself, the more people will start to feel interested in what you do. And the higher the chance that you will sell your products.

Show your products in action & how well they perform.

The best way to convince someone your product is worth the price, is to actually show it in action. Seeing is believing, words are beautiful and all, but as long as your prospect didn't see your product in action, it's unlikely they will open their wallet to order.

To make it easy for your prospect to believe and trust you, show them how good your product is or how much others love it. You can do this by making photos of people happily using your product. Or make videos from customers using your products.

Another way is to create events where you can let people try your product and show your product in action. Exhibitions are also a great way to show off your product and build a customer base.

Use clarity.

It might be obvious to you, but your ads need to be as clear as possible. Too often I see ads that suddenly start in the middle of a conversation or where I just have no idea what the ad is about. And you know as well as me, that we don't take much time to watch an ad, if the first few seconds dont interest us we click away. So why should your prospects watch YOUR ads? Why should they be interested in your 1 hour conversation about your store? (hint, they are not...)

You need to make sure that people right away know what you want to sell, or want them to do. if you sell batteries, tell them you sell batteries, if you sell carpet, tell them you sell carpet. If it's not clear enough what you sell or what you offer, people will skip your ads.

My suggestion is that you try different approaches. You can try different colors, different headers and photos or videos. Keep testing until you find the best way to promote your products and get more clicks. If you focus on video ads, make them short, make sure that it's clear what your ad is about right away.

Solve a pain point.

Like I said before, if people trust you they are more likely to buy from you. So, if you can give them valuable information that solves their problem they will be much more likely to believe you and listen to you.

What is the problem that your product solves? If possible write the problem in your header, and make clear that your product is the solution. Sometimes you can offer solutions for free, like on your blog. People search google daily for solutions. If they find you, read your blog and are happy with your answer, they might be willing to check out your products as well.

Have a clear CTA.

A CTA, short for Call To Action, must always be in your ad, and it's important to make it as prominent as possible. A CTA is a short sentence or even one word that you use to let people take action. Be it something like, learn more, find out more, sign up now, download now, or other variations. If you don't do it, readers might be confined and don't know what you want them to do, and don't take action at all.

You can be creative with CTA’s but you should always include them in your ads. This can drastically increase your click through rate. I suggest you try different CTA’s to see what works best.

Use testimonials.

Another proven way to influence people is by showing testimonials from your customers and users. Nowadays everyone goes to the internet to search for products. And they want to know if the product is any good. One of the first things they do is read reviews and comments. Therefore, showing your best testimonials will convey more trustworthiness and people are more willing to buy from you.

Although there are more ways to influence people and get more clicks on your ads, these are some of the best. Please keep in mind that when we talk about influencing, we mean that in a positive way. As a business owner you must believe that your products are actually helping people. And to make people aware of that we need to use ways to show them.

Believe me, no matter how good your product is, without telling people about it, nobody will ever know. So don't be shy or feel ashamed to promote yourself and your products, but be proud and keep in mind that you are trying to help others.

Good luck
